Federal Signal LED Emergency Vehicle Warning Lights
First, keep in mind that this was back in about 2003 when LEDs for emergency vehicles were still new to the world. I had wanted to go LED from the start, but the technology simply wasn’t there yet. Especially when it comes to blue LEDs. Federal Signal was one of the first to market with quality LED warning lights. With their support, I was able to start replacing strobes with LEDs. Now the trick was to figure out where to mount them. Since all of the Tomar strobes were 3×7, they were not just drop in replacements. So they became the first LED perimeter warning lights on Project Responder.
